B r e a s t F e s t

Our “Come as You Are” Breakfasts (also known as “BreastFests”) are monthly Saturday gatherings created to have friends, spouses and children get together for an enjoyable breakfast that serves up heaps of casual conversation, kind words, laughter, along with plenty of listening ears.

People with breast cancer who attend may be newly diagnosed, living with cancer, continuing their treatment, or are those survivors who want to help others through the wisdom they gained from their experiences. All who attend provide support to others over breakfast and a few cups of coffee. This is considered our “pick-me-up event” where many leave feeling rejuvenated, motivated, and loved so they can move forward into the next day, week, month.

With the exception of November and December, we have speakers from the community to share their knowledge.  Bits of wisdom and inspiration are provided in a Tender, Loving and Caring manner.  Topics vary.

Speakers:

Each month, except November and December, a speaker(s) from our community shares bits of wisdom and inspiration to provide you with some TLC (Tender Loving Care).  Topics vary.  Past presentations have included, meditation, breathing, nutrition, drinking water, Chi-lel Qigong, physical fitness, the benefits and cautious use of herbs, and much more.  If you would like to be a speaker, kindly email us at ROL@RibbonsVentura.org.

The information gained from speakers is not intended to constitute, nor should it be considered, medical advice or serve as a substitute for the advice of a physician or other qualified health care provider.  Ribbons of Life makes no assurances of the information as being fit or suited to a patient’s particular medical needs, and to the maximum extent allowed by law disclaim any and all information being shared.  If you are undergoing treatment and are considering alternatives, it is recommended that you discuss what you learn with your doctor.

Resources:

Our local businesses donate items, gift certificates and services such as a haircut and style, a facial, manicure, massage, and other gifts to help pamper women with cancer while sending a meaningful message that we’re all in this together. Breast cancer survivor-thrivers attending each monthly BreastFest are given an opportunity to select a special gift to take home while knowing that their community cares about them.  Lori L. Stephens, was our C.L.O.C.S. Program Creator.

To see the list of C.L.O.C.S. Donors, see our C.L.O.C.S. tab, under Projects. If you would like to donate gifts to our C.L.O.C.S. Table, feel free to email us at ROL@RibbonsVentura.org.
